Tournament History
2012 update - After 25 years as the Mark G. Hoyle Memorial Tournament, the tournament will now be known as the Veterans Memorial Tournament.
The Mark G Hoyle Memorial Tournament was originally called the Mike Reynolds
Tournament. In 1986, Reggie Desnoyers proposed to then league president Roger
Gagnon that the tournament be renamed in memory of
Mark G Hoyle*.
Reggie, along with Bruce Sutherland started a tradition that continues over 20 years later.
Though the 1993 team came oh so close, the first Swansea team to win the Mark G.
Hoyle tournament was in 2003, under manager Joe Monteiro. Many of the players from
that team were also on the 2005 12 Year Old District 6 Championship team.
